Then we add the rest of the family members: Power BI, Flow, Teams, PowerApps, Planner, Delve, Sway, Stream, Yammer, Forms, OneDrive and SharePoint.
Yes, this is the complete suite of business application available in Office 365 for companies to use, and more are added on a regular basis.
Now, let’s look at the 5 things you need to know about Dynamics 365 and Office 365.
1. Complete Integration of Outlook with Dynamics 365
The first thing you should know is that Microsoft has completely integrated Outlook with Dynamics 365. Since most people use Outlook as their business communication tool, Microsoft has opened the shell to allow Dynamics 365 to smoothly work with Outlook. From your email, you can track this message in Dynamics 365. Then, you convert this email message into an opportunity, a lead or a case. From Outlook, you can search in Dynamics 365 and even view the contact and account information.
2. Document Management with Microsoft SharePoint and Office Group
The second thing is the management of documents in an organized fashion. Quotes, contracts and customer files are all managed with SharePoint, or Office Group in Dynamics 365. When you select your customer in Dynamics 365, it will show all relevant documents. You can then open a document and modify it online, you can upload a new document, or look at the different version of that document.
3. Export Capacity
The third important functionality is the capacity to export and import with Excel. From any views in Dynamics 365, you can export your information into an Excel document with one click of the mouse. You can choose between a dynamics document, which will allows you to update your information every day, and you can export to an Excel report, which is a document with data and charts. Finally, you can mass edit your information with Excel Online with all fields automatically mapped for Dynamics 365 and re import it into your Dynamics back office with one click.
4. Power BI Analytics
Power BI is a powerful tool to draw reporting from your Dynamics 365. You have services available for you to use for Sales, Services, Accounting, and Operations using Power BI Desktop to start creating your own reports. With Power BI, you can connect to most databases and web services. You can combine information from other files, Azure, online services and various data connections that may be on premise into the same dashboard or report. After connecting to your database, you can easily create your first report by simply clicking and dragging your information into the appropriate fields. From there, you can upload the report online and share it with your colleagues that need to see the information.
5. Get Flow to Connect your various Databases
Flow is probably the most important additions to Microsoft’s business applications tools. Flow has the capability included with out of the box connectors to over 150 databases, software and web services that can transform information into alerts and action. It can trigger an email for approval to your manager, which can then update or create action in Dynamics 365.
